The Minds Behind
ReEarthMater
Dr. Ramona Fayazfar
Ph.D., P.Eng
Founder & CEO
Dr. Ramona Fayazfar is the Founder & CEO of ReEarthMater and Director of the Eco-Friendly Circular Advanced Materials & Additive Manufacturing (E-CAM) Lab. She is a materials scientist, engineer, and technology leader with over 20 years of experience advancing the intersection of materials science, additive manufacturing, and sustainability.
She currently serves as an Adjunct Research Professor at Western University, where she leads interdisciplinary research and innovation programs focused on developing next-generation low-carbon, carbon-negative, and circular material systems. Her work transforms waste-derived, recycled, and bio-based resources into high-performance feedstocks—including pellets, filaments, and pastes—for scalable additive manufacturing and construction applications.
Through ReEarthMater, Dr. Fayazfar is driving the translation of advanced materials from laboratory discovery to industrial deployment. Her work spans polymer and biopolymer composites, bio-augmented recycled plastics, low-carbon cementitious systems, and sustainable metal additive manufacturing using reclaimed and renewable resources. She integrates formulation, processing, characterization, and ASTM-aligned qualification to enable reliable, high-performance, and commercially viable material solutions across packaging, construction, automotive, and advanced manufacturing sectors.
Recognized for her leadership in circular materials innovation, Dr. Fayazfar’s work bridges science, engineering, and industry—advancing a closed-loop, sustainable future for manufacturing and the built environment.
Dr. Franco Berruti
PhD, P.Eng., FCAE
Chief Scientific Advisor & Strategic Partner
Dr. Franco Berruti is Professor of Chemical and Biochemical Engineering at Western University and the Founding Director of the Institute for Chemicals and Fuels from Alternative Resources (ICFAR). An internationally recognized researcher, he brings decades of expertise in chemical reactor technologies, thermal conversion, and the valorization of biomass and organic waste into value-added fuels, chemicals, and biochar.
At ReEarthMater, Dr. Berruti provides scientific leadership and collaboration in developing biochar-based fillers and circular material systems for low-carbon and sustainable manufacturing. His work continues to inspire innovative solutions that close the loop between waste and value, shaping a cleaner and more regenerative future.
